Dessau is renowned as a Bauhaus city and has been declared a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO. A unique ensemble of Bauhaus buildings were created in Dessau in the 1930s by Walter Gropius and Mies van der Rohe: The Masters' Houses, drinking hall, town houses – and of course the famous Bauhaus building. However, apart from Bauhaus, cultural life characterises the city: The latest theatre productions at the Anhaltinisches Theater, opera performances, the Kurt Weill Centre and many other museums and exhibitions are within easy reach of the Days Inn Dessau.
Dessau Wörlitz Garden Kingdom (Wörlitzer Park) is a unique, exotic combination of nature, landscape planning, architecture and philosophy. In 2000, the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom was declared a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO.
